Role overview

We are looking for an Accountant to join the Citygate team to Take primary responsibility for the preparation of all monthly financial reporting and budget preparation for 4 businesses.

Key responsibilities

As an Accountant your key responsibilities will be:

• To produce accurate monthly management accounts for the 4 businesses within agreed formats and time scales
• To prepare and submit manufacturer composite data for the above within time scales.
• To review and resolve reconciling items in manufacturer bonus accounts
• To ensure accruals & prepayment are regularly reviewed for all sites
• To ensure monthly other balance sheet accounts reconciliations are completed on a rolling basis to aid year-end procedure
• To produce daily cash flows forecast and identify peak cash requirements
• Review and control of working capital for the above sites
• To ensure files of a confidential nature are held securely and updated accordingly
• To ensure compliance of PAYE, National Insurance and Value Added Tax (VAT) regulations.
• To prepare annual PSA return
• To assist in preparing annual budgets and upload them on to ASE Projector
• To contribute to the planning and control of resources
• To strive to improve system optimization
• To analyse financial data and make appropriate recommendations to senior management
• To compile and compare Key Performance Indicators for all departments
• To work closely with managerial colleagues
• To aid Monthly Performance Review Meetings.
• To provide guidance on all financial and accounts issues
• To help Retailer to achieve industry-leading standards of process efficiency
• To operate at all times within the law and ensure Health & Safety and all company policies and procedures are adhered to
• To work together with the team as required to facilitate to smooth running of Accounts department.

About You

As an Accountant, you will ideally have the following skill and experiences:

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualifications preferred but not essential
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work across multiple sites
