Regional Master Technician
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced a Regional Master Technician to provide high-quality technical support across multiple Citygate locations.
This is a varied and mobile role, offering the opportunity to use your advanced technical expertise across a range of workshops, brands and vehicle models. You will act as a key point of technical support, assisting sites with complex diagnostics, challenging repairs and technical issues that require Master Technician-level knowledge and experience.
Working across a designated group of locations, you will provide flexible support based on business and workshop requirements, helping to maintain productivity, reduce diagnostic delays and ensure vehicles are repaired to the highest possible standards.
As a Regional Master Technician, you will also play an important role in supporting and developing other technicians, sharing your knowledge and providing guidance and coaching to less experienced members of the workshop teams.

Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities as a Regional Master Technician will include:
- Providing flexible technical support across multiple Citygate locations, travelling between sites in line with business and operational requirements
- Undertaking complex diagnostic activities to identify the root cause of vehicle faults and determine effective repair solutions
- Supporting workshop teams with challenging technical issues and acting as a point of escalation for complex repairs
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repair work when required, in line with manufacturer guidelines and Citygate standards
- Assisting sites during periods of increased workload, technician shortages, annual leave or other operational requirements
- Helping to reduce vehicle downtime by providing timely and effective diagnostic and technical support
- Conducting electronic visual health checks (eHVC) and providing comprehensive reports, expert advice and recommendations where required
- Ensuring all vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair activities are completed safely and to the highest quality standards, in line with internal and manufacturer requirements
- Liaising with Service Managers, Aftersales Managers, Service Advisors and workshop teams to prioritise technical support and workload across the region
- Sharing technical knowledge, best practice and new ways of working across multiple sites
- Mentoring, coaching and providing guidance to Apprentice Technicians and less experienced members of the workshop team
- Supporting the development of technicians by helping to improve diagnostic capability and technical knowledge
- Keeping up to date with manufacturer technical information, new vehicle technology, diagnostic methods and repair procedures
- Participating in ongoing training and development to maintain Master Technician accreditation and ensure product and technical knowledge remains up to date
- Contributing to local and company-wide process improvements, identifying opportunities to improve workshop efficiency, quality and customer experience
- Providing a consistently high level of professionalism and representing Citygate positively across all locations
About You
As a Regional Master Technician, you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:
- Hold a recognised manufacturer Master Technician accreditation
- Be a Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician with significant diagnostic and technical experience
- Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing and able to travel regularly between multiple Citygate locations
- Have extensive experience diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle faults
- Be confident working independently and adapting quickly to different workshop environments, teams and priorities
- Have excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Be highly organised with the ability to manage changing workloads and priorities across multiple locations
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical information to both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Be confident supporting, mentoring and developing less experienced technicians
- Have a proactive and flexible approach, with a willingness to support different locations as business requirements dictate
- Have a strong commitment to quality, safety and delivering an excellent customer experience
